REVIEW: Will Joseph Cook – ‘Sweet Dreamer’

I feel as if I’ve been waiting for this album for forever and it is finally here and all I want to do is run around the house and scream. That’s how excited I am. If you’re new to MIML, you would have missed all Will Joseph Cook’s tracks that I would have featured but all those songs are on his debut album, ‘Sweet Dreamer’.

I’ve spent some time listening to the album and it’s superb with its infectious 80s-tinged indie pop music and Will’s incredible vocals. The record was recorded in London, with production duties from Hugh Worskett and Bombay Bicycle Club’s Jack Steadman (with additional production by Will himself).

If I HAD to choose a favourite track off the 13-track album it would have to be ‘Treat Me Like a Lover’. I think this is one track I played so many times I’ve lost count. I may sound like I’m gushing and maybe I am a little. I am a genuine fan and I’ve followed Will since he dropped ‘Girls Like Me‘ more than a year ago. So I’m very happy that he has put out this body of work and it really is an enjoyable listen.
