Fast-rising BBC presenter and DJ Abbie McCarthy (BBC Introducing, Radio 1’s Live Lounge Un-covered) will be joining Leeds indie band of the moment Marsicans on their UK headline tour dates in 2019. The collaboration will see Abbie, representing her own Good Karma Club night, DJ’ing at the shows and curating the support acts.

The Good Karma Club, Abbie’s monthly night at the Sebright Arms, has become a firm fixture for showcasing hot new bands from all over the UK. She and Marsicans became friends after the band played there last year.

Asked about the shows, Abbie says: “‘I’m so excited for Round Two of the Good Karma Club on tour and couldn’t think of a better, more exciting new band to headline every night. Marsicans al-ways deliver live and have so many great songs to unleash next year. Supporting them on each of the 8 dates will be acts I’ve handpicked specially, all excellent artists that you need on your radar and all your playlists. I’ll be DJ’ing every night too. It’s going to be a lot of fun – bring it on!’

Earlier this year, both Marsicans’ headline tour and Abbie’s first Good Karma Club tour with the Academic, Sea Girls and Zuzu were nationwide sell-outs.

The upcoming 8-date run, set for April next year, was announced by Marsicans last month off the back of their massive tour with Fickle Friends. You might want to get your tickets early for this one.
