I don’t do that many premieres but when I decide to, it’s because I’m so impressed by the artist/artists that I HAVE to be the first to share their music.
So let me introduce you to singer/songwriter Cecilia Gault. A New York artist who just dropped her debut single ‘If You’re Gonna Lie’. The track is a little bit Future R&B and Pop with an electronic vibe. Cecilia’s voice is so pure, it drew me in from the moment I pressed play and this song is now my newest obsession.
Speaking about the track, Cecilia said she wanted to write something honest and innocent.
“Something for me to share an experience that is personal, but universal. Its a songs about betrayal, and how we deal with it. I dealt with my betrayal by writing this song, and processing it internally.”
I think this debut is a good indication of what is to come and I cant wait. Now without further ado, here is ‘If You’re Gonna Lie’
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Currently a student at the lauded Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, she has performed across multiple intimate venues across the city. It was her performance alongside NYC icon Patti Smith at City Winery in 2011, however, that has left a lasting impact on Gault as a solo artist. Elsewhere, Gault co-wrote and provided vocals on the 2017 rhythmic dance record “So California” by Cleavage for international imprint Spinnin’ Records. She has also co-written songs for electronic producers Audien and TheFatRat set for release on Astralwerks and Universal, respectively, later this year.
