Top 60 songs of 2017

More than 1,500 songs were shared in 2017 so making this list was very hard. I couldn’t even do a top 50, I had to make it a top 60. These are the tracks that really made an impact in my life this year.

Enjoy the list below

  1. Sigrid – ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’

This was a track that got me through a tough time in my career. I listened to this song on repeat for months and now that things have changed for the better, I thank Sigrid for putting this track out there and it just had to be my number one.

2. Valleyz, Tessellated & Amindi K. Fro$t – ‘Pine & Ginger’

If you have never heard this song before, you’re gonna thank me when you do. I found this song while scanning SoundCloud for some hits and when I heard this, I went crazy! Listened to it on repeat and everyone I shared it with loved it too. This song made it on the very first radio show I did this year, it landed on my Summer playlist and now it has made it to no. 2 on my Top 60 list. I just love this song so much.

3. The Phat Lady Sings – ‘Set Me Free’

This song is so amazing. I listened to this after staying up for hours as my island was hit with a Tropical Storm earlier this year. As the rains and winds calmed, this song and the lyrics just totally made my day, week and month. Thank you The Phat Lady Sings!

4. Emilia Ali – ‘Into The Light’

Emilia Ali is an artist I’ve placed on my Ones To Watch list for 2018 and now her song is number 4 on this list. The track is addictive, so much so that I sang it word for word just after two plays.

5. Eat More Cake – ‘Hide From The Light’ (Original Mix)

This track just put me in such a good mood this year and they had the sounds of the beautiful steel pan on this. <3

6. Ghassemi – ‘It’s You’

This is one song I could not stop playing and wanted to share it with everyone I knew ( I did and they loved it).

7. Silk Cinema – ‘Say You’ll Love Me’

Silk Cinema came into my life in September and their music has left me in awe. Interesting tidbit, the London-based duo appear on this list three times.

8. Weslee – ‘Bathwater’

Weslee really blew me away with this track. I just had to put this in my top ten

9. Cautious Clay – ‘Cold War’

A definite hit, this song by Cautious Clay was pure perfection.

10. LO’99 – ‘From The Start’ ft. Elizabeth Rose

This is a song I just did not want to stop listening to. I didn’t even want to go to sleep because I never wanted this song to stop. It’s so good.

You can check out the rest of the list in this lovely Spotify playlist I’ve put together. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
