The last I heard from Sophie Fay was back in November when I shared her debut track, ‘LNT’. Since then she has released a few more tracks including ‘Damaged’. A track she says she recorded August last year, which was a turning point in her music.
“I decided to go for something more experimental and art-oriented. This song really means a lot to me because it’s a literal reflection of my mind. You can really hear the out of tune piano, the transition from R&B to Dancehall, the interlude, all that. Plus, the idea behind it is deeper than you may that think. I talk about how young people just waste their youth getting high, getting drunk; they don’t have a purpose and that’s why they decide to be just like everybody else.” – Sophie
