The way the universe works amazes me sometimes. I approved Foreign Fields’ ‘Don’t Give Up’ a few weeks ago but because of life/work, I’m only getting to share it now but today is a day I really needed to hear “don’t give up”.
The song, according to the duo is about:
our sometimes flawed attempts at bringing a small hope to those we hold close. It’s about being there with them in their lowest moments and reminding them of how strong they truly are. That they are seen. That they are still alive.“
I needed that reminder today and maybe you do too. Stream the track below
‘Don’t Give Up’ is the first release from ‘The Beauty of Survival’, the 3rd album from indie-folk duo Foreign Fields. It’s the follow up to 2016’s acclaimed “Take Cover” and their 2012 debut “Anywhere But Where I Am”.
Foreign Fields’ Eric Hillman and Brian Holl wrote and recorded The Beauty of Survival in the winter in a back-to-basics cabin with no heating built by a two-man father-and-son team in Western Wisconsin.
