INTERVIEW: Luxley is shaking things up with his Wildfire Dance Rock

New Orleans based act, Luxley recently released his latest tune ‘Tremors’ off his upcoming EP and it is without a doubt a hit.  It’s a funky alt-pop anthem reminiscent of acts like Beat Connection and Phoenix. I recently got the opportunity to interview this talented artist to find more about him and what inspires his music. You can check it out below
How long have you been involved in music
Since I was 13 years old.
Who/What inspires you?
Reading people’s stories, timeless records, Prince, motivated friends, and those who are simply motivated around me are inspiring.
How would you describe your style of music?
Wildfire Dance Rock
Tell me about Tremors, what inspired that track?
Heavily inspired by Prince at the time, I spent a few months thinking-up the song. When I wrote it, it came together magically in a studio up in Brooklyn, NY.  It’s about brushing-off that ex who keeps coming back, toying with your emotions.  Several songs inspired Tremors: Silversun Pickups – Panic Switch, Foals – Inhaler, Friendly Fires – In The Hospital, Talking Heads – Burning Down the House.  Just to name a few.
When can we expect your EP and what can we look forward to on that?
The record will be released at end of June/early July. You can look forward to a lot of heavy rythyms/grooves and melodic pop vocals floating over electronic worlds of drums, bass, guitar, and synths.  The songs on the Spirit EP are about that feeling of being unsettled.  Whether in a poetic manner or bluntly, all of the songs are extensions of my own personal experiences or relatable ones from my collaborators.
What else can we expect from you in 2016?
A few tours, a music video, and possibly some teaser material for the upcoming EP 2.
Finally, what one word would you use to describe yourself?
