Jack Novak is a happy bundle of energy and is very exciting to watch perform. Her DJ sets are high energy, filled with intensity and feel like going to a Zumba class. She jumps and bounces with the beats while constantly smiling and has full control of the crowd. It is not hard to be happy doing something you love and for Jack Novak music is something she truly loves. I had the pleasure of sitting down with her in Chicago and we had one hell of a time.
Peep the interview below:
Where did your musical journey begin?
It started in Chicago when I was 13 years old going to old school raves. You would get a flyer with an address that would take you to another place or check point where they would then give you the address to the warehouse where the actual rave was taking place. It felt like an adventure and the rush was unbelievable. I instantly fell in love with house music, drum and bass, and happy hardcore and I haven’t stopped since. 🙂
What inspires you?
Im inspired by life and experiences that I take part in or watch. Just having a really amazing week or a really awful week and taking that energy and putting it into music. It is really cool when you are having a bad week and work on uplifting music and don’t even realize your mood has completely changed. I also love working out and doing physical activities. Being active helps me find my happy place and allows me to focus on what I need to get done.
Fun Fact: Filter number 2 on snapchat is Jack’s favorite 🙂
Do you have any exciting collaborations coming out that you can talk about?
I have a bunch of really awesome ones coming up! At the end of May I have one on Casa Blanca Republic with a Finnish artist that goes by Lenno. I also have one coming out with Lost Kings that I’m very excited for.
How was Lollapalooza South America?
Unbelievable. Easily one of my favorite shows in my life. I have enjoyed every show I played in South America but this one was really special for me. The crowd is so hype and truly loves the music.
